Misaligned Teeth Are a
Health Issue. Not Just a Look Issue.
"When teeth are crowded or misaligned, the consequences go far beyond appearance. Untreated misalignment is one of the leading causes of premature tooth wear, chronic jaw pain, and preventable gum disease in adults."
At Dental White, we see patients who have lived with jaw tension, difficulty chewing, or persistent headaches for years — not knowing that misaligned teeth were the underlying cause. Straightening your teeth with aligners or braces isn't cosmetic treatment. In many cases, it is preventive healthcare.
The earlier misalignment is treated, the simpler and shorter the treatment. A case that takes 4 months today could require 18 months in two years — or result in tooth damage that needs additional treatment entirely.
Misaligned teeth create uneven bite pressure, causing some teeth to wear down faster. Untreated, this leads to sensitivity, fractures, and eventually tooth loss.
Crowded teeth create pockets your toothbrush and floss can't reach. Straight teeth are significantly easier to clean — reducing cavity and gum disease risk by up to 3×.
Bite misalignment directly affects the ability to produce sounds like "s", "th", and "t" clearly. Many patients notice improved speech clarity after orthodontic treatment.
An incorrect bite puts chronic stress on the jaw joints (TMJ). Orthodontic correction distributes bite forces evenly — relieving jaw pain, clicking, and tension headaches.
Misaligned teeth reduce chewing efficiency. Food that isn't properly broken down places extra strain on the digestive system. Straight teeth allow for thorough, efficient chewing.
Uneven bite forces can accelerate bone loss around specific teeth. Correct alignment distributes pressure evenly across the jaw — protecting the bone structure long-term.
Clear Aligners or Braces —
Which Is Right For You?
There is no universally better option. The right choice depends entirely on your case. At Dental White, we give you an honest recommendation — not the one that costs more.
- Mild to moderate crowding or spacing
- Working professionals who need discretion
- Adults and teenagers wanting an invisible option
- Patients who want to remove during meals and cleaning
- Minor to moderate bite corrections
- Moderate to complex misalignment cases
- Patients wanting less visibility than metal
- Cases requiring precise control of tooth movement
- Teenagers and young adults
- Patients who prefer a fixed (non-removable) option
- Severe crowding, spacing or bite issues
- Complex jaw alignment corrections
- Growing children where growth guidance is needed
- Cases where maximum control is required
- Most cost-effective option for complex treatment
What about lingual braces? Lingual braces (placed behind the teeth) are technically available and can be provided if specifically requested and clinically appropriate. However, we do not proactively recommend them — modern clear aligners offer equivalent discretion with greater comfort and convenience. At Dental White, we recommend what works best for you — not what is most complex or expensive.
From Consultation to
Your New Smile
Digital assessment, X-rays if needed, and an honest recommendation. We tell you exactly what your teeth need — and a written cost estimate before you commit to anything.
For aligners: digital scan → custom tray series fabricated. For braces: brackets bonded in a single appointment. Your full timeline and number of visits are agreed upfront.
Check-up appointments every 6–8 weeks to monitor movement and make adjustments. Clear aligners are changed to the next set in your series as your teeth progress.
Treatment ends when your smile matches the plan. A retainer (worn at night) keeps your teeth in place. Retainer guidance and follow-up are included in your treatment.
Orthodontic Treatment
Is For Every Age
Aligners and braces treat a wide range of conditions — from simple cosmetic concerns to complex bite and jaw issues. If you have any of the following, a free consultation will clarify your options.
Teeth overlapping due to insufficient space — the most common reason for treatment
Excess space between teeth — causes food trapping and gum exposure
Upper teeth covering lower teeth — causes jaw strain and premature wear
Lower teeth protruding beyond upper — affects chewing and speech
Upper and lower teeth not meeting correctly — causes asymmetric jaw development
Front teeth don't meet when biting — causes difficulty eating and speech issues
"Am I too old
for aligners or braces?"
Early interceptive treatment — addresses jaw development issues while growth is still underway. Prevention is far simpler than correction later.
The most common age range. Teeth are responsive, treatment is faster. Both aligners and braces work excellently. Clear aligners are especially popular for teens.
Working professionals increasingly choose clear aligners for discretion. No age disadvantage. Teeth move at any age — the biology is identical.
Orthodontic treatment is fully effective in adults of any age. At Dental White we treat patients well into their 50s. It is never too late to correct misalignment.

When a patient comes in for aligners, my first question isn't 'how much can I recommend?' It's 'what does this person actually need?'
Sometimes the answer is aligners. Sometimes it's braces. Sometimes it's neither yet.
That honesty is the only way I know how to practice dentistry.

💬 Ask Dr. Divya →At Dental White, clear aligners start from ₹45,000 for simple cases and go up to ₹1,20,000 for complex corrections. Metal or ceramic braces start from ₹35,000. The exact cost depends on the severity of misalignment, the number of aligners required, and the treatment duration. We provide a complete written cost breakdown — including follow-up appointments and retainer — at your free consultation before any commitment.
At Dental White, minor misalignments with clear aligners are typically resolved in 4–6 months. Moderate cases take 8–12 months. Complex cases — including significant bite corrections — take 12–18 months. Your specific timeline is assessed and agreed at your free consultation. The longer you wait, the longer treatment may take as misalignment tends to worsen gradually with age.
No — and this is a myth we address regularly at Dental White. Teeth respond to orthodontic forces at any age. The biology of tooth movement does not change significantly after a certain age. We treat patients in their 40s and 50s with the same effective results as teenagers. What matters is your gum and bone health — not your age. Both of these are assessed at your consultation.
Neither is universally better — the right choice depends entirely on your case. Clear aligners are ideal for mild to moderate misalignment and patients who want discretion or the ability to remove during meals. Braces (ceramic or metal) are more effective for complex corrections and severe bite issues. At Dental White, Dr. Divya gives you an honest recommendation based on your specific clinical needs — not based on which option costs more.
With clear aligners — yes, completely normally. You simply remove them before eating and drinking anything other than water, then clean your teeth before replacing them. With braces, sticky foods (chewing gum, caramel, toffee) and hard foods (whole apples, hard nuts, raw carrots) should be avoided as they can damage brackets or wires. Most normal foods are absolutely fine with braces.
Yes — always. Teeth have a natural tendency to shift back toward their original positions after orthodontic treatment. A retainer worn at night prevents this. Typically, nightly retainer wear is recommended for the first 12 months. After that, 3–4 nights per week is usually sufficient indefinitely. At Dental White, retainer guidance and your first retainer are included in your treatment plan — not charged extra.
Your Straighter Smile is

Every month of delay is a month of unnecessary wear, unnecessary gum risk, and a treatment timeline that grows longer.
